The instructions below will help you to make sure that your device is properly configured to use location services.
To make sure GPS is enabled:
- Go to Options -> Advanced Options and make sure you have Location ON.
- Once you have done so, make sure proper permissions are enabled for the app by going to Options -> Applications and clicking on "Movies" in the list. When the detail screen appears, click on the BlackBerry button. When the menu appears, select Edit Permissions. Make sure that Connections -> Location Data permission is set to Allow.
For users on the Verizon network: GPS is an added service, with an additional fee. If it is enabled, you will see a symbol below the signal strength indicator on the home screen. It looks like a little circle with a cross overlaid on top of it. If you do not appear to have GPS enabled, or are not sure, please contact Verizon customer service to inquire about your options.
If you cannot access GPS, we recommend entering a postal code:
- Tap on the BlackBerry button, select Settings, then Location. On the next page, highlight Location and enter your postal code.
For users on the Orange network: there is a known issue in which some devices using Orange will not allow the user to access GPS or input a postal code. If this is the case, providing us with a data log will help us to diagnose the problem (no confidential information is collected). To do so, wait until you see the error message when you try to enter a postal code, then hold down "alt" and press "F" "X" "L" "G". Click "Yes" to send us the logs. We will contact you when we have more information.
