Why doesn't [insert name of movie] have a Tomatometer rating?

A movie must have a minimum of five ratings from Approved Tomatometer Critics in order to have a Tomatometer reading. Unfortunately, a lot of older movies don't have Tomatometers because those critics weren't around back then.
